PFM1-T

The FloPath PFM1-T is a transient pressure and flow data logger manufactured by MOBILTEX Data Ltd., a Canadian company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, founded in 1985 and specialized in IIoT remote monitoring solutions for water, gas and cathodic protection networks. It belongs to the FloPath family, focused on pressure and flow management in drinking water networks.

The unit combines two data loggers in one: a slow logger that stores average, minimum and maximum pressure values with sampling rates down to 10 samples per second, and a high-speed logger that detects transients and records events at 10, 20, 100 or 1,000 Hz without interfering with the main recording. During threshold logging, the unit checks the pressure signal against the configured thresholds 10 times per second; once triggered, it keeps a 1,000-sample pre-trigger buffer. With external power, it samples continuously at 1 kHz and records data before, during and after each surge event.

Unlike a conventional pressure logger, whose logging interval averages out and hides short-duration peaks, the PFM1-T records water hammer events in a dedicated memory file. Its 20 bar transducer withstands transients up to 40 bar, provides fixed-level and rate-of-change trigger modes, and operates in extreme conditions thanks to its submersible IP68 enclosure and a typical battery life of more than 5 years.

Data is transmitted over LTE-M (CAT M1), NB-IoT or 2G cellular networks to the FloPath.Cloud platform, which enables real-time monitoring, threshold alarms and reporting without relying on existing SCADA infrastructure.
