Data Logger Sofrel LT-42

The SOFREL LT42 is an IoT data logger for permanent diagnosis and self-monitoring of sanitary and storm sewer networks, manufactured by LACROIX under the SOFREL brand, which specializes in remote management and monitoring solutions for water networks. It belongs to the SOFREL DL4W 4G LPWAN data logger range and is the range model focused on monitoring combined sewer overflows and discharges in wastewater networks.

The LT42 provides 4 digital inputs for meters, rain gauges, status signals and overflow sensors, and 2 analog inputs for SOFREL pressure sensors or third-party sensors on a 4-20 mA loop, which it powers at 12 V or 20 V. Based on the height measured on an analog input, it calculates flow using two conversion tables, along with the associated daily volume, and counts the number of daily overflows. It also controls an autonomous sampler and manages water quality sensors such as conductivity, pH and redox potential.

Its dynamic archiving stores up to 100,000 data points locally, with primary and secondary archiving of digital, analog and ultrasonic probe data, and automatically changes the archiving period on events such as an overflow. Its enclosure features enhanced IP68 waterproofing, verified by an independent laboratory through 30-day immersion tests under 4 m (13.1 ft) of water, and it runs on an internal lithium battery with 6 to 10 years of life depending on measurement frequency.

Data is transmitted over 2G/4G M2M cellular networks (LTE-M and NB-IoT) to the utility's SCADA system, with daily synchronization. For chambers with limited coverage, it is available with the 4 m (13.1 ft) external FLEX antenna option. The LT42 communicates in inter-station mode with SOFREL S500, S4W, YDRIX and AS RTUs, simplifies data use through the SOFREL WEB LS IoT platform and is configured in the field via Bluetooth.
