Adaptable professional ground penetrating radar (GPR) with 5 sensors from 100 to 1000 MHz and 5 deployment configurations for utility locating, geology, concrete and infrastructure
NOGGIN® is a family of high-performance professional ground penetrating radars (GPR), marketed by Radiodetection and developed by Sensors & Software, a Canadian manufacturer specializing in GPR systems. It is aimed at professionals who perform frequent surveys across varied terrains and applications and need a flexible system that can grow with their needs.
The family offers 5 sensors with center frequencies of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 MHz, plus the NOGGIN Ultra 100. Lower frequencies provide greater penetration for large, deep targets, while higher frequencies provide greater resolution for shallow targets. The NOGGIN Ultra 100 supports up to 65,536 stacks and 32-bit data output, helping detect weaker signals at greater depths. Operation is controlled from the DVL digital video logger, with a high-visibility touch screen, multi-language support and a USB port.
Each sensor can be mounted in 5 configurations depending on the terrain: SmartCart® (4-wheel folding cart), SmartTow™ (hand-tow for difficult terrain), SmartChariot™ (vehicle hitch-mounted trailer for large areas), SmartHandle™ (handle for vertical and overhead surfaces and confined spaces) and SmartSled™ (hand- or vehicle-towed sled). Users adjust depth, step size, stacking, time window, grid size and trigger mode, and DynaQ® optimizes stacking based on collection speed.
Grid Scan mode produces in-field depth slices, and an external GNSS receiver unlocks SplitView™, which displays the subsurface cross-section and the map together, along with automated geo-referenced outputs. Noggin SG packages integrate high-accuracy GNSS positioning, and data can be analyzed with the optional EKKO_Project™ software, which includes cross-section, depth-slice and 3D visualization.
