Data Loggers
SOFREL LogUp is a 4G data logger for remote monitoring of drinking water and sewer networks. It is not positioned as a stand-alone device but as a complete solution: the data logger in the field, a mobile app to configure and diagnose it on site, and a centralized platform to manage every device in the network. It is aimed at drinking water and sanitation operators who want continuous visibility of their network, with fewer field visits and greater control over the life cycle of their equipment.
Its defining feature is that a single model serves different monitoring needs, and that functions can be added and software updated remotely, without visiting each site. This reduces field interventions, simplifies commissioning, and keeps devices up to date, including cybersecurity improvements, which are increasingly relevant in critical infrastructure.
It is a rugged, compact, eco-designed device with quick-lock waterproof connectors that simplify installation. Its data can be shared with multiple SCADA systems over standard protocols, so you can start with a few points and grow at your own pace without redesigning your architecture.

Managing hundreds of data loggers spread across a city is a different challenge from installing a single one. Each device must be configured, updated, monitored, and eventually extended with new functions, and doing that by visiting every chamber consumes a great deal of field staff time. SOFREL LogUp was designed around the device's entire life cycle, not just its installation.
The solution has three elements. The data logger is installed in the field and communicates over 4G cellular, with an integrated antenna and a connector for an external antenna. The MY SOFREL LogUp mobile app connects to the device over Bluetooth to configure and diagnose it on site quickly. And the LX CONNECT centralized platform gathers data from all devices and manages their versions and functions remotely; even initial setup can be done remotely from it.
In daily operations, the platform lets you monitor device status, such as battery level and firmware version, and schedule preventive maintenance. Field visits are then planned by real need rather than by calendar. Because a single model covers different monitoring needs, the network can evolve without changing equipment: new functions arrive remotely.
Cybersecurity deserves its own mention. Remote software updates and security improvements keep the device fleet current over time, which is essential for those who operate critical infrastructure. In practice, it is as important a selection criterion as the measurement itself.
The main applications are drinking water networks, including district metering with flowmeters, and sewer networks. In the field, the device is rugged and compact, and its quick-lock waterproof connectors make installation simpler and faster, which reduces errors and commissioning time.
For integration, the platform shares data with multiple SCADA systems over standard protocols, so the device fits into the existing supervision architecture. SOFREL LogUp complements Marfel's SOFREL data logger range and is a natural component of the Online District Metering solution. Because communication is cellular, 4G coverage at each site is verified during project planning.
The recommended path is to start with the most critical points and grow in stages, taking advantage of the fact that functions are added remotely. If you are evaluating SOFREL LogUp for your network, Marfel's team can help you define measurement points, review coverage, and design the communications and cybersecurity architecture.
